Part of Jesmond Community Festival in May

We were part of the Jesmond Community Festival 2013 with a stall in West Jesmond School yard at the Festival Fair from on Sat 11 May.

And though it rained a bit, the hardy folk of Jesmond Community Orchard came out to play on our Open Day on Sun 12 May. The big planters were filled with growing things, and we were donated some unusual varieties of grafted fruit tree. We're grateful to Al Robinson for donating some unusual varieties of apple that he had grafted.

Lovely Day for a Working Party in June

We had a working party on Sun 30 June to spruce up the Orchard by weeding, grass cutting and sorting out the wild garden. It made a big impact - you could actually see all the step-over apples again!

Allotment Show 2013

Newcastle Allotment Show 2013

Our stall at the Newcastle Allotment Show on Sun 8 September was very successful. As well as publicising the Orchard, we made contact with other groups, including a cider co-op and the Comfrey Project which supports asylum seekers through allotments and a musical collective.
